Past Allegations Resurface Amid New Lawsuit

The first accusation came from Michele Bundy Evans, who claimed to have dated Sharpe for nearly a decade. In 2023, Evans filed a lawsuit against Sharpe for defamation, libel, and slander, alleging that he sexually assaulted her after she accused him of infidelity.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Evans provided gruesome details of the alleged assault, stating that Sharpe forced her to perform oral sex and then proceeded to rape her while threatening to ruin her if she went public.

Evans further claimed that she filed for a restraining order against Sharpe but later withdrew it due to fear of retaliation. In an interview with The Sun, Evans stated that she felt compelled to come forward despite the potential backlash.

Representatives for Sharpe have vehemently denied the allegations, stating that Evans’ claims are “ridiculous and completely without merit.” They also mentioned that Sharpe has had no contact with Evans for many years.

Despite the denial, the allegations have cast a dark shadow over Sharpe’s career and personal life. The former NFL star has decided to take a temporary leave from his duties at ESPN to focus on his family and address these allegations.

“At this juncture, I am electing to step aside temporarily from my ESPN duties,” Sharpe said in a statement. “I will be devoting this time to my family, and responding and dealing with these false and disruptive allegations set against me. I plan to return to ESPN at the start of the NFL preseason.”
